Median cleft lip: A new method of surgical repair

Masseter nerve as “baby sitter” procedure in short-term facial paralysis

Abstract  The classical “babysitter procedure” to maintain the muscle tone of the affected paralyzed face using the hypoglossal nerve
was copied using the masseter nerve. With this procedure, a nerve graft is not required and less time is necessary to recover
muscle tone.

Blepharoptosis Correction by Excision of the Levator Muscle and Tarsus in Chinese Patients

This report introduces a novel surgical method for correcting moderate and severe blepharoptosis that uses the residual levator
muscle. A total of 30 patients (38 eyes) with moderate or severe blepharoptosis received surgical treatment and a follow-up
evaluation of the aesthetic results. Through an anterior transcutaneous incision, part of the levator muscle attached to the
tarsus was excised, and the amount was accurately measured. Other assessment parameters included position and contour of the
upper lid margin, uncovering of the pupils, and symmetry of the palpebral fissures. The incidence of postoperative complications,
including infection, also was calculated. All but two eyes had good or fair outcomes. The eyelid was elevated to the normal
